Yumen City 30MW Biomass Power Plant Project

In July 2011, a local private company, Gansu Ning's Industrial Co. Ltd. signed an agreement with the Yumen Municipal Government to build and operate a 2X15 MW co-generation power plant in Yumen City, Gansu Province. The project was expected to commence in Mar 2012 and come into operation at the end of 2012. All necessary approvals were cleared in March 2012. However, construction commencement did not take place until Oct 2012 and the total investment increased to US$ 77.47 million (RMB 480 million). A project company Gansu Tianning Co. Ltd. was establish to implement the build operate transfer project. The plant was expected to consume 250000 tons of straw a year and generate an annual revenue of RMB 150 million Yuan and 200 jobs. Ning's had a 100% stake in the project. Majority of the civil works had been completed by September 2013.
