Description | In September 2005, a private company, Weixing Group was granted a 40 year agreement to construct and operate the Yun County Nan River Cascade One Hydro Power Plant in Yun County, Yunnan Province. The project was procured through competitive tendering. The total capacity of the project is 40MW. Weixing Group has a 80% stake in the project with the remaining share owned by Mr. Tao Dongguo and Mr. Jin Rupeng (10% respectively). The total investment was RMB 200 million (US$ 24.42 million). A project company, Yunnan Yun County Asia Pacific Investment Co., Ltd., was established to operate the facility. Construction commenced in August 2006. According to http://www.weixinggroup.com/shownews.asp?id=163 (November 2008), construction was progressing well and expected to finish in 2009. The exact financial closing date is unknown. |
