Description | Croatia's HŽ Infrastructure has awarded Comsa a €278.8 million contract to modernise the 44 km Hrvatski Leskovac-Karlovac rail corridor, part of the Zagreb-Rijeka Line M202. The project includes track rehabilitation, construction of a second electrified track to double capacity, replacement of signalling and telecommunications systems, and refurbishment of three stations. The upgrade will increase maximum speed to 160 km/h, reduce journey times, and improve reliability and safety. The project is co-financed by the EU's Competitiveness and Cohesion Programme and is scheduled to start in summer 2026 with completion targeted for 2029. |
