Description | The Government of Zambia has launched a tender inviting bids to develop up to 300 MW of solar PV capacity integrated with battery storage. This is the country's first Carbon-based Feed-In Premium (CFIP) tender window under a cooperative framework with Norway. Eligible projects must have a capacity between 30 MW AC and 100 MW AC, co-located with a battery energy storage system with a minimum capacity of 30 minutes. Upon completion, projects will connect to the national grid and enter offtake agreements with ZESCO or its subsidiaries. Developers must transfer emission reduction rights to CFIP and cannot participate in other carbon or renewable energy certification schemes for the same project. |
