Description | Ukraine proposes that the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant be operated by a joint venture comprising the United States and Ukraine on a 50:50 basis. The plant is currently located in the occupied city of Enerhodar in Zaporizhia region. The proposal includes distribution of electricity with 50% going to Ukraine and the other 50% managed by the United States. The project also involves the restoration of the plant's dam, which was destroyed and requires rebuilding costing about EUR 2 billion. The dam is located in temporarily occupied territory and rebuilding it requires investment, which Ukraine believes Russia will not provide. |
