The provision of a loan to finance the construction and operation of a pilot wind project of 500 MW installed capacity located in Tamdy District of Uzbekistan. The project will strongly contribute to the strategic priority of the government of increasing share of renewable projects in the energy mix as being one of the first wind projects in Uzbekistan but also representing one of the largest renewable projects in Central Asia.  It will contribute to climate mitigation by adding 500 MW of wind generation capacity to the national energy system and will assist the country in low-carbon transition. The project is classified Category A and the comprehensive Environmental and Social Impact Assessment is carried out.
