Description
Description | The New Zeke Brook Water Treatment Plant and Well Systems Project in Greenwood, Nova Scotia addresses a housing and infrastructure need by expanding the servicing capacity of the Greenwood Water Utility. This project involves both planning and capital construction components, including the development of a new water treatment plant and wells system. The new infrastructure will support future residential housing growth and densification, enabling 3,350 units. The expected outcomes include increased drinking water system capacity, fire flow, and reliability for Greenwood Water Utility for its users. The project will expand services to the Village of Greenwood, rural areas south/west of Greenwood, and vacant lands at Clements Park, enabling additional residential housing development to support population growth and density. It will also create capacity for potential future expansion to the un-serviced Village of Kingston and include on-site solar electricity generation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and offset the water treatment plant’s electricity consumption. |
