"The overall goal of the ZERO WASTE DESIGN project: to promote and support the creation of operative tools for the re-use of waste materials in the design sector, thus focusing on the recycling / up-cycling processes, while sensitising potential customers/users to reduce their waste production. This goal will be achieved through the following specific objectives: - To build a common model for the upcycling of goods and for a more sustainable and inclusive approach in the design goods production chain. - To build the capacity of emerging designers with a training program aimed at enabling them to fully exploit their potential as “Zero Waste Designers”. - To pilot concrete actions aimed at producing prototypes of new products using recycled/waste materials in n. 4 Countries. - To promote a sensitization processes towards citizens about the cultural and civic value of recycling. - To support the creation of a network amongst stakeholders dedicated to the promotion of zero waste design, with the potential of being expanding at EU level and also outside the Union, in neighbouring Countries. In the short term, ZWD is expected to deliver the following results: - Creation and delivery of a model (""blueprint""), built with research and exchange of practices, to implement and support ""zero waste design"". - Development and implementation of a training course for ""Zero waste designers"", aimed at building green skills of n. 20 emerging professionals. - Validation of n. 4 actions aimed at delivering new products using recycled materials and waste. - Raised awareness between citizens in n. 4 Countries about the importance of reducing waste production and mainstreaming reuse and recycle practices, with a series of workshops and events. - Creation of an International network aimed at collecting, promoting and supporting ""zero waste designers"", in the European Union as well as in Neighbouring Countries."
