Zhiibaahaasing Water Storage and Distribution System Upgrades

The Project will upgrade the piped water distribution system and the central water storage tank in the community of Zhiibaahaasing. The scope of the Project includes the installation of a new below grade storage reservoir with high lift distribution and fire pumps that meets MECP design guidelines, as well as 200mm and 150mm drinking water transmission pipes with fire hydrants. The installation of all transmission pipes, hydrants and water services will take place along the main road and on minor roads with existing homes in the community. The storage reservoir will be part of a site already designated for the water treatment plant. Finally, the scope will also include recapitalization of existing equipment being used in the old water treatment plant. includes sensing instruments, pumps, trim chlorination systems for distribution. The exact ratio will be determined at the final design stage. The Project aims to provide potable drinking water storage and distribution system upgrades for the community of Zhiibaahaasing so they may have safe and reliable access to clean drinking water that meets the provincial regulations. The new system will also provide fire protection which has been a problem in Zhiibaahaasing.
