Zimbabwe – Strengthening Institutions of Transparency and Accountability Project (SITA)

The proposed operation is an institutional support project designed to complement the institutional support projects (i.e. CBPFEM and GISP), and other partners’ interventions, including the UNDP managed multi-donor support program for Parliament and Auditor General. The project aims to improve transparency and accountability through strengthening public oversight institutions in Zimbabwe. Through this intervention, PoZ and OAG have clearly identified and prioritised their respective capacity building needs and interventions. The Bank will thus play a major role in contributing to strengthening the governance framework by improving the oversight functions of Parliament and OAG. The project has three mutually reinforcing components: (i) improved capacity and effectiveness of Parliament; (ii) enhanced capacity and effectiveness of the Office of Auditor General; and (iii) Project management support. The total cost is estimated at UA 2.2 million.
