Description

Description

Classification of the products to be procured : 2 Nature and quantity of the products to be purchased : 1 mφ Nylon Balloon Set Type of the procurement : Purchase Basi requirements of the procurement : A The requirements cover the 13-meter diameter nylon balloon used for liquid scintillator containment, which is part of the neutrino detector operated by the Research Center for Neutrino Science, Tohoku University, located in the Kamioka Mine in Hida City, Gifu Prefecture. B The balloon structure must be computationally verified to withstand the loads generated by the density and level differences between the internal and external liquids, as well as the pressure applied to the gas phase. The to section of the balloon must be designed to be attached to the cylindrical portion of the existing stainless-steel tank. The bottom part of the balloon must be designed for a smoothly connecting flange structure. C The balloon must be fabricated from specially specified laminated film composed of nylon and EVOH bonded via dry lamination, cut into gores (boat-shaped segments) and jointed using high-frequency welding in a cleanroom environment shielded from external contamination. Rope guides must be welded along the welding lines to secure a rope net in its designated position along the balloon's outer surface. D The rope net must support the balloon's weight/load and maintain its spherical shape. The upper part of the rope net must be equipped with tension measurement systems to monitor its load level.
