Description

Description

The forthcoming business case (BC) is aiming to analyse implications for the implementation of a ‘multi-crypto environment’ for CSDP (common security and defence policy) operations, enabling multiple security domains to exchange information securely. This BC will consider aspects identified in the landscaping study with a view to offering options to exchange information securely between CSDP actors in a ‘multi-crypto environment’ while also tackling business multidisciplinary aspects. Such an environment has a high priority both in terms of security of the supply and innovation.A ‘multi-crypto environment’ can be described as the operational conditions in which multiple and heterogeneous security domains interact and operate with the need of information sharing. The complexity is due to the fact that various levels of information security classification may exist and therefore different security mechanisms are put in place in every domain. Crypto management is critical to maintain the effectiveness, robustness and resilience of CSDP telecommunications and information systems.
