Oktibbeha County is soliciting competitive sealed bids for a term contract for roadside herbicide application . The Contractor shall furnish all qualified labor , supervision , specialized equipment , and herbicides for approximately 294 . 46 miles of paved roads and 217 . 57 miles of gravel roads , as detailed in the Official Spraying Road Inventory ( Appendix A ). 2 . TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS 2 . 1 Target Vegetation & Performance Standards The goal is the complete control of broadleaf weeds , brush , and encroaching vegetation within the County right - of - way while maintaining a stable grass base for erosion control . All work performed under this contract shall , at a minimum , meet the performance standards and best practices outlined in the most current version of the Mississippi Department of Transportation ( MDOT ) Vegetation Management Plan . 2 . 2 Paved Road Application Detail ( 3 Applications / Year )  Shoulder & Edge : Selective application to control broadleaf weeds and brush .
