2026 Road Grading

The City of Presque Isle is seeking bids from qualified individuals and firms ( Bidder ) for road grading services on City - owned unpaved roads . Services will be performed 2 - 3 times in 2026 , in accordance with the list provided in this request . Services can consist of the following : Spring Grading : In consultation with the Public Works Director or designee based on conditions . Intermediate Grading : In consultation with the Public Works Director or designee based on conditions . Fall Grading : In consultation with the Public Works Director or designee based on conditions . SCOPE OF WORK The successful bidder shall supply / provide road grading per the following requirements : 1 . Grading of all City - owned unpaved roads as identified by the City . 2 . All work shall be performed under the direction of the Public Works Director or his designee . 3 . All work shall be performed in such a manner that presents the least disruption to traffic . 4 . All roads will be graded based off the list provided for the number of times per year . The City retains the right to exclude the optional Intermediate grading based on road conditions . Payment shall be made only on the actual amount of grading done . 5 . Grading shall be paid at a per mile rate . Payment will be made to the nearest foot . 6 . Bidder will provide all labor , equipment and fuel necessary . No payment will be made for equipment moving costs . 7 . Bidder will coordinate with City to confirm roads , schedules , and priority areas . 8 . City will responsible for entries into Dig Safe prior to any work being performed . 9 . Bidder will perform services during the spring and fall windows with flexibility for weather . Optional Intermediate grading will be performed as needed in coordination with the City . 10 . Bidder shall supply and setup all work zone traffic control and safety devices necessary to warn motorists and protect workers . All work area markings and devices shall conform to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices , latest edition .
