Description | 1 . The BASE BID includes roof recovery and / or full replacement work on roofs designated on drawings . 2 . New roof drain connections to existing system to be completed by others . DEMOLITION AND ROOF PREPARATION ( General ) A . Provide and maintain all temporary utilities , enclosures , fencing of construction areas , exterior protection , barricades , caution tape , temporary sanitary facilities , and ground protection as necessary and as required by in the General Conditions . B . Provide and maintain a watertight barrier against moisture entry into the building . The building must remain watertight . C . Provide protection of existing roof surfaces that will be trafficked over from staging point to the area of roof replacement . D . Provide temporary protection over interior finishes during roof installation . Protection shall consist of tarps . 3 . 02 DEMOLITION AND ROOF PREPARATION A . Prior to any demolition or roof preparation , Contractor shall work with the Owner to fully and completely “ map ” the locations of all existing electrical conduit and other clusters of “ wires ” that exist atop the structural steel and are in the raised ribs of the existing steel roof deck . B . Temporarily lift , move , and reset all utility conduits to allow for the scheduled roof replacement . For the purposes of the Base Bid , the work shall include the removal of the old wood blocking and the installation of new treated blocking supports and pipe clamps on a new membrane separator sheet to support the conduits |
