Description | The intent of the Small Scale Local HSIP Grant is to improve safety on local roadways . The grant is administered by the VTrans Safe Systems Section . Candidate projects for these grants should be ready to go to construction in 2026 . If there are extenuating circumstances ( for example , waiting for a paving project before putting in rumble strips ), construction in 2027 is also acceptable . The funding for these grants will be 100 % Federal funds administered through VTrans to cover construction only ( design , permitting and administration are not eligible for reimbursement ). |
