These chairs will support clinical operations in the Digestive Disease and Pulmonary Sections of the Medicine and Specialty Care service lines . BACKGROUND : The James A . Haley Veterans Hospital ( JAHVH ) provides patient care for Veterans in the Gastroenterology and Bronchoscopy procedure suites , requiring safe and efficient transport between pre - operative , post - operative , and procedure rooms . Procedure chairs are essential for this process , as they allow for patient positioning adjustments necessary to perform a variety of medical procedures . Currently , the Gastroenterology and Bronchoscopy sections rely on outdated and frequently malfunctioning procedure chairs , which compromise reliability and efficiency .
