1. OverviewThe works comprise the supply and installation of steel sheet piling to support temporary and permanent structures across the A66 NTP Project, BBA Section 3b.2. Detailed Scope2.1 Supply of MaterialsThe Contractor shall supply:• Steel sheet piles in various profile sizes, complete with corrosion protection and cut to length requirements.2.2 Installation of Sheet PilesThe Contractor shall undertake:• Pile installation works including driving, vibration, pre drilling, cutting, interlock connections, tie rods, waling and bracing systems.• Removal of sheet piles upon completion of works.2.3 Associated WorksThe Contractor shall complete associated activities including:• Pile guide frames• Dewatering screens• Structural support components2.4 Pre Construction & Site ActivitiesActivities include:• Mobilisation and site establishment• Setting out• QA testing• Preparation of record drawings and certification2.5 Coordination RequirementsThe Contractor shall coordinate with related project disciplines including foundations, drainage and earthworks teams.________________________________________3. Standards & ComplianceAll works must be carried out in accordance with:• BD 21/01• National Highways Specification• Relevant BS/EN/Eurocode standards• CDM Regulations________________________________________4. Key Supplier RequirementsThe Contractor must:• Demonstrate capability to manage CDM and SHES risks• Provide method statements, vibration and noise mitigation plans• Coordinate closely with Temporary Works Designers• Collaborate with the Balfour Beatty site and engineering teams• Submit all required QA documentation, including testing and certification evidence________________________________________5. Risks & Mitigation - Contractor ResponsibilitiesThe Contractor shall support risk management in areas including:• Early award and resource confirmation to reduce over commitment risks• Managing vibration and settlement risks through pre condition surveys and real time monitoring• Mitigating design or construction clashes through integrated design reviews and 3D coordination• Minimising traffic management delays via advanced planning and flexible work slots• Managing steel/fuel cost volatility through early procurement and index linked pricing mechanisms________________________________________7. DeliverablesThe Contractor shall provide:• Complete installation of specified sheet piling works• Full QA documentation including test results and certification• As built / record drawings
