A . Scope of demolition and removal work is shown on drawings . B . Scope of alterations work is indicated on drawings . C . The purpose of the project is to replace the existing air - cooled chiller and associated pumps at Academic Building with new . D . Alter the existing BMS to control and interface with the new chiller . E . Perform electrical work in support of demolition of existing HVAC and installation of new HVAC systems . F . Protect existing concrete , brick , finishes , landscaping , and building during the HVAC upgrades . G . Make other improvements as noted on the Drawings . H . Test and Balance the modified chilled water system in the building . 1 . 3 OWNER OCCUPANCY A . The Owner intends to occupy portions of the existing building during the entire construction period . B . Cooperate with the Owner to minimize conflict and to facilitate the Owner ' s operations . C . Schedule the Work to accommodate the Owner occupancy . 1 . 4 CONTRACTOR USE OF SITE AND PREMISES A . Construction Operations : Limited to areas noted on Drawings . B . Arrange use of site and premises to allow : 1 . The Owner occupancy . 2 . Work by Others . 3 . Work by the Owner . 4 . Use of site and premises by the public . C . Existing building spaces may not be used for storage outside of the mechanical room . D . Time Restrictions : 1 . Limit conduct of especially noisy exterior work to the building ' s regular building unoccupied hours in evening or over weekends . 2 . All other work may be conducted during normal business hours so long as temporary arrangements have been made for the use of a temporary boiler provided by the mechanical contractor . E . Do not permit construction traffic over unprotected surfaces . F . Utility Outages and Shutdown : Limit disruption of utility services to hours the building is unoccupied . 1 . Do not disrupt or shut down life safety systems , including but not limited to fire sprinklers and fire alarm system , without 7 days ’ notice to the Owner and authorities having jurisdiction . 2 . HVAC : a . Refer to Time Restrictions above . b . The building ' s HVAC system chilled water shall remain in service throughout the entire construction period ; unless otherwise noted either by permanent or temporary chiller usage . c . When work is required at the riser connections , the HVAC system may be disrupted when the building is unoccupied , the duration of the disruption to not exceed four hours ; each occurrence . 1 . 5 SUGGESTED WORK SEQUENCE A . Construct Work in stages during the construction period : 1 . Stage 1 : Cut in new flanges to accept temp chiller . 2 . Stage 2 : Connect temp chiller to new breaker in switchboard . 3 . Stage 3 : Provide temp chiller until new chiller is in place and operational . B . Coordinate construction schedule and operations with the Owner .
