Albany State University is providing its public notice to utilize the MUSCO Consortia Contract as awarded by Sourcewell (Contract #041123-MSL). Albany State University currently uses more than 60% MUSCO product for our exterior athletic lighting, which has all been recently renovated and upgraded in the past five years. The remaining 40% will be upgraded as it becomes end-of-life. Currently, the lighting at the Albany State University Coliseum (Football Stadium) has reached its functional end-of-life and must be replaced. As such, Albany State University will replace these lights with MUSCO lighting similar to what is already in the majority of our outdoor athletic facilities. MUSCO has been established as an ASU Campus Standard, and all updated lighting installations were designed by an electrical engineer using Musco specifications, which are not the same specifications across suppliers-one size does not fit all. This new system will work with the existing lighting controls (which provide remote operability across all of our upgraded facilities), which to change manufacturers would also require a new design and installation of the controls component. Utilizing Musco products eliminates redundant engineering design, reduces retrofit equipment requirements, saves on the installation labor component, provides the shortest possible overall project timeline, offers a tremendous project cost advantage because of the aforementioned reasons, and for our campus clients.
