A . Requirements for aqua ammonia ( ammonium hydroxide , 19 % w NH3 ). The aqua ammonia to be supplied , the handling , packing , shipping and testing thereof , except where otherwise herein specified , shall all conform to the latest revision of AWWA Standard B306 . A . 1 Content requirements : COMPONENT / SPECIFICATION : Ammonia , wt % 18 . 1 – 19 . 9 %. Specific Gravity 0 . 9250 - 0 . 9325 @ 60 ° F . Appearance and Clarity Colorless , free of turbidity and free of visible foreign matter . Iron ( as Fe ) 2 . 0 ppm max . Arsenic ( as As ) 0 . 25 ppm max . Heavy Metals ( as Pb ) 5 . 0 ppm max . Lead ( as Pb ) 0 . 25 ppm max . Meets requirements of the Food Chemicals Codex , Fourth Edition .
