Installation of Groundwater Well Pump Requirements : The contractor shall install groundwater well pumps in bedrock well . The contractor shall have equipment capable of installing the well pump in bedrock well , including a drill rig to lower the pump into the well . The contractor shall provide all necessary equipment to perform the requirements herein including but not limited to data logging equipment and water management equipment . The contractor shall have electronic or airline water level measurement equipment . The contractor shall divert pumped water . Pump Testing Requirements : The contractor shall be responsible for conducting constant rate pump tests in the following manner and in accordance with Attachment 1 : Determine the pumping rate which shall be 1 . 5 times the design production rate of the pump and determine the depth the pump should be placed in the well before beginning testing . The water in the well must be allowed to stabilize ; Measure static water level before pump test begins in the well and observation well ; Begin pumping test and record water level measurements in both the well and observation well . Measurements must be made at very specific time intervals for the test to be analyzed properly and are provided in Attachment 1 . Each measurement should include depth to the water level to the nearest foot , pumping rate and any comments or irregularities that occurred since the last measurement ; End the pumping test after water level has stabilized for 120 minutes in the well being pumped ; and Upon completion of the test and immediately after the pump is shut off , measure the water level recovery in the well and in the observation well at the frequencies provided in Attachment 1 . Record recovery until water level reaches the initial static water level or for 6 hours , whichever occurs first . The contractor shall understand and agree that if the pump test needs to be ended prematurely due to the water level falling below the pump , the test must be restarted . The pump should be lowered in the well to accommodate for drawdown and the well must be allowed to fully recover to the initial static water level before restarting the test .
