Description
Description | Based on the project site ’ s location at the confluence of two major surface waters , this area is likely to be archaeologically sensitive and requires an Archaeological Resources Assessment ( ARA ). Expected tasks for this assessment include background research , field work , mapping , and report writing . The tasks the consultant will be involved with are expected to take place between December 2025 and June 2026 . Involvement with reporting and permitting needs may extend further into 2026 . Task I : Initial Site Visit The consultant will participate in an initial site visit with the FCNRCD to the project site to discuss data collection needs and adjust timelines as needed . Task II : Research & Data Collection The consultant will conduct background and field research and data collection necessary for an ARA for the area of potential affect , as determined by the initial site visit . This research will require fieldwork at the project site as well as review of historical documents and outreach to stakeholders and individuals knowledgeable about the site and its history . Task III : Reporting The consultant will complete a report of their findings and recommendations and will present the report to FCNRCD and other relevant consultants and stakeholders . Task IV : VDHP Coordination & Permitting The consultant will coordinate with VDHP to submit the ARA report and confirm VDHP ’ s concurrence . The consultant will advise FCNRCD and the project engineer on any design components relevant to historic preservation and assist with reporting and permit applications as relevant . FCNRCD understands that if additional tasks are required by the State , those tasks will likely require additional funding from FCNRCD to the selected consultant . |
