Design and Construction Oversight for New Fire Station The City of Millington , Tennessee , an Equal Opportunity , Affirmative Action Employer , seeks to retain the services of a professional architectural firm or a professional engineering firm to provide complete services for a design through construction administration of Millington Fire Station No . 1 . The city desires to build the new fire station on future land purchased by the City of Millington . The project is generally described as a new fire station that will house up to 10 fire personnel per shift and Administration offices . General floor plan and site layout will include four ( 4 ) drive through bays , attached living quarters for 24 - hour 7 days per week operation , community / educational room and office spaces for Fire Chief , Public Safety Director , Fire Marshall , 2 Inspectors and Administrative Assistant . The fire station will comprise approximately 16 , 000 — 20 , 000 square feet with a three - zone layout including an Administrative / Community Wing , Central Apparatus Bay and Living Quarters Wing . The facility shall be designed to : Support 24 - hour , year - round operations Provide clear functional separation between public , administrative , operational , and residential areas Allow for secure access control between zones Incorporate durable materials suitable for public safety facilities Consider future growth and expansion where feasible General description of work required : Prepare preliminary site and building layout for staff review . Perform study of existing soil conditions on proposed site .
