Professional architectural services will be required for various school related projects ( new buildings , additions , studies , renovations , feasibility studies , and related studies ) over the next several years . Projects will primarily be capital in nature with shared local and State construction funding and local design funding . Project planning , programming , design and construction execution will be in accordance with the State of Maryland Public School Construction Administrative Procedures Guide . Initial task assignments may include , but are not limited to : • A new 780 capacity elementary school : design is locally funded with formal State planning approval requested for an upcoming FY capital improvements project . Designation of a site for the school is expected within six months . An educational specifications ( Edspec ) committee will be assembled in the near future to update our most recent Edspec of a school built in 2022 . The assigned architect will help lead the Edspec team . • Preparation of a feasibility study for a renovation of a school to be designated . • Other tasks will depend on the State and County Commissioners ’ levels of funding in the Capital Improvements Program to support completion of projects .
