Backflow Preventer Testing and Services for UNH Durham

The University System of New Hampshire ( hereafter referred to as USNH or Owner ) is requesting bids from qualified Firms that can provide inspection , testing , repair , replacement and installation services for backflow prevention devices ( BFPs ) located at the University of New Hampshire ’ s Durham campus . Testing / inspections will be performed on a unit price basis . Repair , replacement , and installation services will be performed on a time and materials basis . Firms must be certified to provide backflow prevention device testing services to public water systems in New Hampshire . It is USNH ’ s intent to award an MSA agreement to one Firm based on their capabilities and ability to meet the needs of the University of New Hampshire . 1 . 2 . About the RFB Scope / Technical Specifications Backflow Preventer Inspection and Testing • Refer to Appendix C - UNH - Durham Backflow Preventor Inventory for a list of BFPs currently in - service at UNH ’ s Durham campus . • BFPs shall be inspected and tested by a NEWWA - certified Backflow Prevention Device Inspector / Tester . • BFPs shall be inspected and tested in accordance with applicable procedures published by ASSE International . • Unless noted otherwise in Appendix C , service entrance BFPs ( domestic and fire service ) are tested twice annually in January and July . The Owner will provide BFP location assistance to the Contractor during the July 2026 round of testing , as needed . • Non - service entrance BFPs are tested once annually in June . The Owner will provide BFP location assistance to the Contractor during the June 2026 round of testing , as needed . • Test reports shall be prepared by the Contractor . Test reports shall utilize NEWWA ’ s Backflow Prevention Device Assembly Test Report Form . At a minimum , the “ device location ” field shall include the Owner ’ s equipment ( EQ ) number , the building name , the corresponding building number , and the room number where the BFP is located . • The Contractor shall upload to the Owner ’ s cloud storage site , currently SharePoint , a test report in Adobe PDF format for each test performed ...
