Barn Island Floating Dock System

The purpose of this ITB is to solicit a contractor to fabricate and install two ( 2 ) new floating dock systems at the Barn Island State Boat Launch in Stonington , CT . Each floating dock system shall consist of four ( 4 ) docks each measuring 20 ft long × 8 ft wide . The contractor will also be responsible for proper disposal of the previous dock systems , as well as returning any salvageable hardware to DEEP Marine Headquarters . DEEP will supply the following dock hardware : floats , pile guides , hoops , rollers , inner corner brackets , outer corner brackets , male / female corner brackets , lateral and longitudinal brackets , angle brackets , cleats , cleat angles , washer plates , PVC bumpers , stainless steel strips , pulling shackles , gangways , gangway resting plates , and tread plates . The contractor will be responsible for supplying framing lumber , decking , ground skids , fasteners , bolts , nuts , washers , and any additional materials required to fully replicate the original dock structure in layout , dimensions , configuration , materials , and functionality . If the contractor chooses to construct the docks on site , DEEP will designate a work area perimeter . * Note some construction must take place while the docks are deployed to confirm precise alignment with piles / gangways .* Additional project requirements for disposing of previous docks and returning of salvageable materials may be found in Appendix B , Statement of Work .
