Beaver River WMA for Salt Cedar Vegetation Extract and Stack on 35 Acres .

The proposed contract is removal of all salt cedar ( Tamarix spp .) through mechanical control to reduce fuel loads and improve wildlife habitat quality on 35 acres on the Beaver River Wildlife Management Area in Beaver County . Extract and stack Salt Cedars . • Cedars must be extracted , and root ball pulled out of ground . • Cedars must be stacked in piles of a minimum of 15 trees . • Cedars must be stacked at least 200 feet from cottonwood trees and 200 feet from existing fences as designated by the area biologist . • Standing dead cedars must also be extracted and stacked . • Cedars on slopes greater than 20 % are not required to be cut . These areas will not be identified by ODWC prior to work beginning but will be the responsibility of the contractor to determine .
