Bid # 3843 - Blackman High Cooling Tower Piping Replacement

Rutherford County Board of Education is seeking bids to replace 2 – 10 inch pipes and 1 – 14 inch pipe that runs from the building to the cooling tower . The current piping is PVC , but RCS would like to convert to metal . This will involve demo and replacement of the piping , concrete , asphalt , and soil . There are utilities in the area so TN 811 One Call will have to be notified and there is also control wiring for the chiller and generator wiring in the same area that RCS Maintenance can help locate . Any damage to any utilities , wiring , etc .., will need to be repaired by the awarded contractor along with all cleanups of demo material , replacing concrete , repaving , and seeding and strawing of the area as needed . This will be the full responsibility of the awarded contractor . Temporary cooling will be needed during the time that the work is being done to keep the building operational . The total tonnage of the cooling towers is 1 , 200 tons . The chillers are a total of 1 , 000 tons . New cut off valves will be needed along with check valves . See more
