1 . Introduction The Town of North Stonington Highway Department is requesting proposals from qualified contractors to furnish all labor , materials , equipment , and supervision necessary to perform bituminous concrete pre - leveling on various roadways within the Town . 2 . Project Location Various roadways within the Town of North Stonington . 3 . Scope of Work The contractor shall provide all labor , materials , equipment , and incidentals required to perform bituminous concrete pre - leveling to correct surface irregularities such as rutting , depressions , and settlement areas prior to Chip sealing . • Placement of bituminous concrete for roadway leveling • Mechanical placement using an asphalt paver or approved method • Proper compaction using vibratory rollers • Tapering and feathering edges to match existing roadway surfaces • Application of tack coat where required • Traffic control and safety measures during construction • Cleanup and removal of excess material All work shall conform to the latest edition of the Connecticut Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Roads , Bridges , and Incidental Construction . 4 . Materials All materials shall meet CTDOT specifications and be supplied from an approved asphalt plant . • Bituminous Concrete class 2 or approved equivalent • Tack Coat where required 5 . Estimated Quantities Quantities listed are estimates and may increase or decrease depending on field conditions . Item Estimated Quantity Bituminous Concrete Pre - Leveling 330 Tons Payment will be based on actual quantities installed .
