Description | This project proposes to improve water quality and increase flood resilience in Montgomery , VT , via floodplain lowering and buffer plantings along the confluence of Black Falls Brook and the Trout River . This project ’ s design includes excavation of approximately 4 . 5 acres , with an estimated total sediment removal of 29 , 000 cubic yards . Due to the project site ’ s proximity to Route 118 and a nearby bridge , project implementation will include road embankment stabilization , bridge scour protection , and coordination with the Vermont Agency of Transportation ( VTrans ). Final design will include VTrans Scour Analysis . |
