A . Bookmobile Program The SCCLD Bookmobile provides library services to people who may have difficulty visiting a community library . Our Bookmobile services visits over several locations each month in the cities of Campbell , Cupertino , Gilroy , Los Altos , Milpitas , Morgan Hill , Saratoga , and unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County . B . Purpose Bookmobile vehicles are used daily and need to be functional to accommodate all facets of library services . The SCCLD is looking for a vendor who can procure and manufacture one ( 1 ) attentiongrabbing vehicle that can travel the community , promote the SCCLD , and provide residents with convenient access to materials in a wide variety of settings . Due to age and use , the current Bookmobile vehicle is due for replacement . C . Desired Specifications of Vehicles 1 . Vehicle Length : no longer than 23 . 5 feet . 2 . Budget : Not to exceed $ 300 , 000 3 . Build : Like a Morgan Olson Step Van - See Exhibit D for vehicle examples / ideas . 4 . Gas or diesel powered 5 . Exterior i . Outdoor safety light that is eye catching ; ii . Vehicle wrap with SCCLD design and logo ; iii . Solar panels ; iv . Safety railings and bars ; and v . Windows on entry door . 6 . Interior i . Workspace for two ( 2 ) staff members ; ii . Bench seating for patrons ; iii . Lighting : light - emitting diode ( LED ); iv . Dash and wall clocks ; v . Efficient A / C and heaters throughout vehicle ; vi . Proper dashboard with cup holders for driver and front passenger ; vii . Electrical outlets and USB wall chargers throughout vehicle ; viii . Textured safety floor ; ix . Ceiling fan with sun tunnels ; and x . Smoke and CO2 detectors .
