Description | As described in the MERP Level II Energy Assessment Report for the Bradford Academy , several improvements have been identified for the building ’ s enclosure to improve efficiency and reduce energy usage . Insulate Sloped Ceiling of Original Building The sloped ceilings in the 3rd floor of the existing building have very little or no insulation . The floor area of this 3rd floor space is approximately 4 , 000 square feet . The existing sloped ceiling finish is a mixture of wood slats , and drywall over wooden slats . The intent of this project is to increase the R - value of this ceiling assembly and ultimately improve the energy efficiency of the building . 1 . Materials a . Cellulose Insulation : Blown - In i . Shall have a minimum R - value of 3 . 7 at 1 inch thickness when tested in accordance with ASTM C518 . ii . Basis of design material is Igloo ; Cellulose . Equal substitutions will be considered . |
