The City of Laredo has established a local vendor preference ordinance 2018-O-175. All informal and formal Requests for bids for contracts will be evaluated with a 5% preference for local vendors.Bidders are strongly encouraged to submit their proposals electronically through use of Cit-E-Bid or in person - hand delivery. Mailed Bids (i.e. USPS, FedEx, UPS), telegraphic, emails or facsimile bids will not be considered.Request for Proposals may be hand delivered at the City Secretary Office, 1110 Houston St., 3rd. floor, Laredo, Texas 78040 until5:00 P.M. on October 15, 2026 and all proposals received will be opened and publicly acknowledged at 2:00 P.M. on October 16, 2026.**Note**Vendors/contractors submitting hand-delivered bids to the City Secretary’s Office on the due date must allow sufficient time for check-in at the City Hall reception desk. The City is not responsible for any delays caused by the check-in process. Bids will not be accepted after the specified deadline, regardless of circumstances. Please plan accordingly to ensure timely submission.Vendors are encouraged to attend the walk-through on October 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Sames Auto Arena located at 6700 Arena Blvd, Laredo, TX 78041. Potential vendors are required to enter through the Main Entrance Guest Services and sign in.
