Description | The New Jersey Municipal Excess Liability Joint Insurance Fund ( NJMEL ) is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to serve as Underwriting Manager for the Fund ’ s Workers ’ Compensation program . The selected firm will market , negotiate , and place excess workers ’ compensation and reinsurance coverage ; review loss data and payroll audits to support premium allocation and actuarial forecasting ; prepare annual premium schedules and renewal documentation ; coordinate coverage documents and filings ; and provide underwriting support to the Executive Director , Claims Administrator , and Safety Director . Through this Competitive Contracting Request for Proposals ( CCRFP ), NJMEL seeks an underwriting firm with demonstrated expertise in workers ’ compensation risk programs for joint insurance funds or self - insured governmental entities , including knowledge of regulatory requirements , claims trends , and excess insurance markets .
