Description | Ceiling Grid & LED Lighting Renovation Project Location : Thomas Magnet and Deery Eakin in Bedford County Schools District , Tennessee Owner : Bedford County Schools TN Project Type : Renovation of Cafeteria Ceilings 1 . GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 1 . 1 Scope of Work Contractor shall furnish all labor , materials , equipment , supervision , permits , and incidentals necessary to complete : Demolition and disposal of existing ceiling grid , ceiling tiles , and lighting fixtures Installation of new suspended ceiling grid system Installation of new acoustic ceiling tiles Installation of new LED lighting fixtures Removal and replacement of affected electrical wiring as required Patching and repair of disturbed surfaces Coordination with school schedule and occupancy .. 2 . DEMOLITION 2 . 1 Scope Remove existing ceiling grid system Remove existing ceiling tiles Remove existing light fixtures and associated wiring as required Properly cap and secure electrical systems Protect walls , floors , and furnishings 2 . 2 Disposal Dispose of materials off - site in accordance with Tennessee environmental regulations . Recycle materials where possible . 3 . SUSPENDED CEILING SYSTEM 3 . 1 Ceiling Grid 15 / 16 " exposed heavy - duty T - bar grid Galvanized steel ASTM C635 compliant Color : White 3 . 2 Ceiling Tiles 2 ' x 2 ' or 2 ' x 4 ' acoustic lay - in panels NRC : Minimum 0 . 70 Light Reflectance ( LR ): Minimum 0 . 80 Fire Rating : Class A Approved Manufacturer : Armstrong , USG , or equal 4 .
