The District seeks proposals from qualified Charter Bus Service Providers to furnish safe , reliable , and cost ‑ effective transportation for Pre - K through 12th - grade students . Services will support curricular and extracurricular activities , including field trips , athletic events , and special programs , in compliance with California law and Department of Education guidelines . Proposers and their drivers shall be licensed as required by law with the California Department of Transportation , California Department of Motor Vehicles , and California Highway Patrol . Proposer must maintain current workers ’ compensation and liability insurance in accordance with the requirements listed in the General Conditions . By submitting a response to this Request for Proposals , Proposer attests that it does not have any applicable legal violations as defined by law at the time of and that it will maintain compliance with applicable laws , as defined , for the duration of the contract , if executed . Drivers : All drivers must be : • School Pupil Activity Bus ( SPAB ) Certified • Professional in conduct and attire • Experienced in driving various - sized charter buses • Maintain a valid California Commercial Driver ’ s License ( CDL ) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements appropriate for the class of vehicle to be driven • Maintain a safe driving record with no criminal record • Drivers shall not consume or possess alcohol , narcotics , tobacco , or any substance that may affect their ability to drive safely while providing services for PRJUSD , including any overnight stays ...
