The Work of this Contract provides for the replacement or rehabilitation of seven ( 7 ) existing bridges on the SEPTA Chestnut Hill West Regional Rail line : 1 . Bridge # 0 . 06 over the SEPTA Regional Rail line a . Replace superstructure b . Rehabilitate substructure and abutments c . Safeguard , protect and maintain in - place all track and signal system elements of SEPTA ’ s Mainline system running beneath Bridge # 0 . 06 . d . Proactively coordinate with SEPTA ET / OCS personnel for SEPTA ’ s design and implementation of existing mainline OCS system elements necessary to allow their temporary removal and reinstallation during the Contractor ’ s bridge superstructure work . 1 ) The Contractor shall schedule their work assuming that the SEPTA ET / OCS design will require six months . e . Temporarily relocate undergrade track catenary attachments and supports during bridge replacement work . f . Contact and proactively coordinate with Amtrak for any Contractor work that will foul or have the potential to foul Amtrak property , wires or track . 1 ) The Contractor shall schedule their work to account for the Amtrak review and approval as indicated by Amtrak personnel . 2 ) The Contractor is advised that there are Amtrak overhead wires along Tracks 5 and 6 of the Northeast Corridor ( NEC ) in the area of Bridge # 0 . 06 . The Contractor is to ascertain their status and the potential for encroaching into those wires and appurtenances during the Bridge # 0 . 06 activities . g . Coordination and securing any potential right of entry agreement with Amtrak as the adjacent owner / operator of the NEC tracks . 1 ) See Section 011000 – Special Project Procedures . 2 ) Pay for any additional insurance or costs associated with Amtrak right of entry requirements . h . Arrange for and pay all costs associated with Amtrak railroad protection personnel required for the work at Bridge # 0 . 06 . i . Removal of the superstructure possibly via 1 ) A falsework shoring system to permit sliding the superstructure longitudinally out from over the mainline and sliding in a new superstructure 2 ) Support of the structure on a system of falsework shoring to permit the superstructure to be removed in a series of pieces while certain mainline tracks are out of service 3 ) Removal of the superstructure via a lift out operation of major members 4 ) Potentially performing work to partially demolish and reconstruct the SEPTA North Philadelphia Station platform ( s ) to facilitate removal and / or replacement of the bridge superstructure ...
