NOTICE OF INTENT TO DESIGNATE SOLE SOURCEThe Procurement and Contract Administration Division is publishing this notice pursuant to the City of Deerfield Beach Procurement Code section 38-116, Sole Source. The Procurement Division intends to award without competition if it is determined to be in the best interest of the City.DETERMINATION OF OTHER INTERESTED VENDORSThis Request for Information (RFI)/ Notice of Intent to Designate Sole Source is intended to ascertain whether the commodity specified below is currently available from multiple providers or brands. Any such vendor must submit the following information:The name of the interested party; andA detailed explanation consisting of all documentation showing that there are other competing sources for the identified goods herein.Regardless of any prior communications with the Procurement Division, all vendors interested in responding to this notice must submit a response to this posting containing complete responses to all of the information requested above. Any questions regarding this notice may be obtained through the Procurement Division during this publication period.No action is required if you agree with this notice.If after the public notice period the Procurement Division determines that there are other interested and qualified vendors that meet the specifications of this notice, the Procurement Division will not designate a sole source pursuant to this notice.If after the public notice period no valid submission has been received, the City of Deerfield Beach, or designee, may designate the identified vendor as the sole source for the components described herein for a period of two (2) years from the date of designation, and may issue a purchase order to the identified vendor without competition.Please read the entire notification very carefully before responding to this notice.This Request for Information (RFI) is intended to ascertain whether the commodity specified below is currently available from only one source.This is not a request for pricing or a commitment to purchase.The Procurement Manager shall consider such submittals and notify all submitting vendors of the decision whether to designate a Sole Source.The following product is thought to be available from only a single source:Vendor: PERO Engineering and Sales Co., exclusive authorized representative of The New York Blower Company for the Deerfield Beach areaProduct Name: Chlorine Scrubber Exhaust Fan Replacement ComponentsManufacturer: The New York Blower CompanyMake/Model: Replacement parts for New York Blower FRP General Purpose Fume Exhauster (GFE), Size 18, Arrangement 10, CCW Rotation, UB Discharge: Item 4, Wheel and Shaft Assembly (FRP wheel, solid 316 stainless steel shaft); Item 7, Replacement Teflon Shaft Hole Closure; Item 8, Bearings, 1-11 200 Series (one pair)The City of Deerfield Beach is seeking to determine whether other qualified vendors are capable of furnishing the OEM replacement components listed above, or components fully compatible with the existing New York Blower FRP chlorine scrubber exhaust fan at the City’s Water Treatment Plant.The components are required to replace the existing wheel, shaft, shaft hole closure, and bearings, which are not in condition to be reused, and to return the fan to service within the OEM New York Blower housing previously procured by the City. They must be compatible with the installed fan assembly, including housing, mounting, shaft and bearing fit, rotation, and discharge arrangement, without modification to the existing equipment.A vendor asserting that these components are available from a source other than the vendor identified above must submit all pertinent information, documentation, and technical data sufficient to substantiate that assertion. At a minimum, the response must include the manufacturer and part number of each proposed component; technical specifications or drawings demonstrating dimensional, mechanical, and material interchangeability with the specified OEM components, including suitability for chlorine scrubber service; documentation of the vendor’s authorization to furnish the proposed components; and a written explanation of how each proposed component is compatible with the existing New York Blower fan housing and assembly. Statements of general capability, catalog listings, or assertions of equivalence without supporting technical data will not be considered sufficient to establish a competing source.
