Description | The primary objective of this project is to install 5 - 6 rustic camping cabins at New Discovery State Park , and if possible additional cabins within the available budget at Lake Carmi State Park . These Rustic Cabins are a continuation and expansion of the successful rustic cabin program in other Vermont State Parks . The selected contractor shall have the opportunity to construct additional units if economic efficiencies can be found . Cabin Use – Rustic cabins are intended for gathering and sleeping only . Cooking is done outdoors and the occupants use the shared campground toilet and shower facilities . Overnight pricing for a stay is approximately 2 - times the rate for a lean - to in the same park . Existing cabins experience at least a 75 % rate of nightly occupancy . Cabin Structure : Rustic cabins are one room enclosed structures with a porch , with a 14 ’ x 14 ’ enclosed living space and a full - wide 7 ’ deep porch . The walls show interior open framing and for that reason are designed to provide a post and beam “ like ” look .
