Description | UND CPER is requesting bids for the supply of a coal crusher system to be used in a research facility for the purpose of reducing lignite coal particle size for experimental processing . The equipment will be used to reduce pre - crushed lignite coal from approximately 1 inch top size to 1 / 16 inch (≈ 1 . 6 mm ) or smaller topsize . The crusher will operate intermittently in a pilot - scale coal processing system and must be capable of handling high - moisture ( 40 %) lignite coal . The successful bidder will supply the crusher , motor , and testing services to verify performance prior to delivery . Equipment Requirements The bid must include : Crusher unit suitable for lignite size reduction ; Drive motor ; Required drive components ( belts , gearbox , etc .); Safety guarding for moving components ; The crusher must be suitable for : High - moisture lignite ( 25 – 35 %); Sticky , friable coal materials ; Intermittent research operation ; Preferred crusher types may include but are not limited to : Hammer mill ; Cage mill ; Impact crusher ; Other suitable fine crushing technologies |
