General Information Wayne State University , since 2010 , has largely centralized its procurement of computer hardware technology . The Department of Computing and Information Technology ( C & IT ), Classroom and Campus Technology Services ( CCTS ) offer a proactive PC refresh program across the campus which provides a more manageable desktop environment and cost savings to the individual departments that it services . The service includes standard configurations of a desktop or laptop , thus streamlining the services that are required to support the University by the CCTS team . Standard configurations are available University wide and are found within a hosted catalog and a punchout website . As a result of RFP , the awarded supplier must be eProcurement capable and be able to offer a Wayne State only shopping experience . This RFP is intended to establish a preferred supplier for laptop and desktop computers for the next three years . The Preferred supplier will work with the University ’ s CCTS team to ensure that the standard configurations are kept current with the latest technology , and a cost competitive price . A " standard config " pricing catalog is expected , in addition , large quantity bulk purchases will be coordinated for additional cost savings based on bulk . This large quantity computer refresh is conducted annually during the first quarter of the year . At that time a review of upcoming laptop and desktop configurations are set and help drive the online catalog for the following year ( typically based on new computer chipsets ). Scope of Work The University intends to enter a contractual relationship with a single provider , to provide desktop / laptop hardware , for a 3 - year period with 2 optional 12 - month periods . Discount off MSRP is to be fixed during the initial 3 - year period and during both optional years 4 and 5 with a maximum increase of 2 %, see Cost Schedule .
