Classification of the products to be procured : 1 Nature and quantity of the products to be rent : Computer system for the SK and HK Experiments Set Type of the procurement : rent Basi requirements of the procurement : A Since this system will be operated as part of an experimental apparatus, it must be capable of continuous operation 2 hours a day, 36 days a year. B The system shall be capable of operating in coordination with the data acquisition systems of the Super-Kamiokande and Hyper-Kamiokande experiments at the Kamioka facility. C The system shall be capable of processing a large amount of experimental data stably. D The system shall have a large-capacity file system of 12PB or more, which is capable of long-term storage of large volumes of observational data and provides high reliability for continuous operation. E The system shall have a sufficiently high-speed network environment that enables real-time processing of large volumes of observational data and simultaneous use by multiple users. F The system shall be capable of performing large-scale scientifi and technical computations, including observational data processing and image visualization. G The system shall have an integrated hardware and software system that allows simultaneous use by multiple users. H The system shall allow smooth migration from the existing system. It shall also enable the transition to be completed without long-term interruption of the experiments during system switchover. I The system shall enable the migration of user software assets developed on the existing system as well as the data stored on it. The data to be migrated currently amount to approximately 6PB on disk and slightly less than 4PB on tape, and the volume is expected to increase before system procurement. The data migration work shall be completed before the system becomes operational. J Shall have a processing language, various application software, and supporting utilities that can be used efficiently with available resources. K Software updates shall be applied in a timely manner. L A maintenance and support system capable of responding to issues promptly shall be provided.
