Description | The purpose of this project is to harness the transformative potential of high - capacity transit investment to accelerate redevelopment along Charleston Blvd , one of the most critical corridors in the City of Las Vegas . It will build upon the synergistic goals of the City of Las Vegas , Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada ( RTC ), community members , and related planning efforts , particularly the RTC Charleston Blvd Alternatives Analysis and the City of Las Vegas Charleston Area Plan . This comprehensive , 18 - month planning initiative will produce an implementationready roadmap for transit - oriented development ( TOD ) along the three - mile portion of Charleston Blvd between Valley View Blvd and Rainbow Blvd . The study will include a detailed analysis of existing conditions , a market readiness and gap analysis , and a robust public engagement process with a focus on property owners , developers , and historically underrepresented communities . It will also evaluate public and private investment scenarios , identify priority infrastructure and development opportunities , and compile best practices tailored to the corridor . The final plan will include visualizations , measurable outcomes , and actionable strategies to guide affordable housing production , active transportation improvements , and coordinated redevelopment efforts that support future high - capacity transit service . |
