Description | • Asphalt cracks and joints greater than or equal to 1 / 4 ” shall be sealed . • Sealant material used shall be Polyflex Type 3 , or equivalent . • Surfaces shall be clean and dry before the placement of the sealant . Compressed air having a pressure of at least 90 psi shall be used to blow out the joint or crack and remove all traces of dust . • Ambient temperature shall be 40 ° F and rising before sealant is applied . • The thickness of the applied sealant shall not exceed 1 / 8 ”. • The diameter of the sealant applicator head shall not be greater than 4 ”. • Any surplus sealant greater than 2 ” from the centerline of the crack shall be promptly removed . • Traffic shall not be permitted over sealed joints or cracks until the sealant is tack free . • A curing agent shall be used to prevent tracking of the sealant after placement . • Traffic Control shall be the responsibility of the Contractor . |
