Description | Through this RFQ the Finance Department seeks statements of qualifications from qualified custody banks to ensure its assets are well - protected and efficiently managed . Custody banks play a crucial role in the financial industry , particularly for institutional investors such as pension funds , mutual funds , insurance companies , and investment managers who deal with a large volume of assets and require a reliable and secure partner to manage them . In accordance with the City of Miami Beach Investment Policy and Procedure , all City investments , are maintained in a depository ( custodial account ). This independent custodial account must be within the trust department of a major financial institution with a branch located in Miami - Dade County , Florida . The custodian will not be utilized to buy or sell investments for the City . All City investments must be registered in the City ' s name . See more |
