CUSTOM BUILT SHIPPING CONTAINERS FOR 80 ’ MODULAR “ HALLWAY ” TRAINING CENTER PROP

The City of Springfield is seeking qualified firms or persons to provide Custom Built Shipping Containers for an 80 ’ Modular “ Hallway ” Training Center Prop for the Springfield Fire Department in accordance with the provisions and requirements stated herein . A contract will be issued in the form of a one - time contract . 3 . 2 Custom Built 80 ’ Modular “ Hallway ” Training Center Prop – See Exhibit 1 attached . 3 . 2 . 1 Constructed with two ( 2 ) 40 ’ one trip , like new , high cube , shipping containers , 8 ’ wide , 40 ’ long , and 9 ’ 6 ” tall . 3 . 2 . 2 The exterior will be left as exposed container and painted a single color selected by the Springfield Fire Department . Contractor will sand , prime , and apply a top coat of a Sherwin Williams commercial paint . 3 . 2 . 3 The interior will be uninsulated and left as exposed container and container floor . Container floor material shall be bamboo flooring . 3 . 2 . 4 The seams between the two containers will be framed , reinforced , and permanently sealed by Contractor . 3 . 2 . 5 The south elevation shall have a total of four ( 4 ) 3 ’ solid steel doors with lever handles . 3 . 2 . 6 The north elevation shall have a total of two ( 2 ) 3 ’ solid steel doors with lever handles . 3 . 3 Four ( 4 ) 20 ’ Shipping Containers – See Exhibit 1 attached . 3 . 3 . 1 One trip , like new , high cube , double door , shipping container , 8 ’ wide , 20 ’ long , and 9 ’ 6 ” tall . 3 . 3 . 2 The exterior will be left as exposed container and painted a single color selected by the Springfield Fire Department . Container floor material shall be bamboo flooring . 3 . 3 . 4 Each container shall have one ( 1 ) 3 ’ Solid Steel Door . 3 . 3 . 5 Each container shall have one ( 1 ) 3 ’ x 3 ’ single hung window , double pane , with vinyl frame . 3 . 4 Options : The City may consider the following options when making an award . 3 . 4 . 1 Multi - Trip Shipping Containers : Multi - trip shipping containers shall be in “ good ” condition and refurbished to a high standard so that it is free of obvious damage , defects , dents , rust , holes , etc . 3 . 4 . 2 Container Floor Material : Steel Flooring 3 . 4 . 3 Window Options : Steel Frame and Aluminum Frame 3 . 5 Drawing Approval : Contractor shall provide a final drawing that must be approved by the Springfield Fire Department to ensure the correct placement of doors and windows prior to production .
