GCI is seeking to procure Dark Ground Chicken according to noted specifications . Suppliers MUST include delivery in the line item pricing . The commodity shall be delivered F . O . B . Destination to : Warehouse 4 - FDU Meat Processing 800 Abattoir Road Milledgeville , GA 31061 Packed : • 50 lb . per box • Wax - coated boxes ; no liners or poly bags • Box size o Length : 21 - 23 ” o Width : 15 - 16 ” o Depth : 4 - 6 ” All box sizes must be consistent . • Boxes must be labeled with product codes , nutritional , net weight , and pack date . • A copy of the box label must be submitted with bid . Style : • Frozen – Must be frozen at or below 0 ° F within 48 hours after processing • Processed from USDA - inspected birds • Processed in a plant that has an approved HAACP plan in operation . Documentation must be submitted before product is received . • Product must never exceed 45 ° F during processing . • Final ground product must be sized 1 / 16th to 1 / 8th inches . • Must have a color and texture of lean ground beef • Shall contain no additives • No visible feathers , necks , skin , plastic , metal detectable by metal detector or other extraneous material shall be found in product . • Shall contain no mechanically separated chicken ; must come from all dark meat chicken . • A letter of guarantee and description of process used to treat product for salmonella must be provided before product is received . Shelf life : • Minimum shelf life of 60 days from date of delivery . • If Julian code , or other dating system used , vendor must supply a letter with the bid and at the time of delivery specifying a minimum shelf life of 60 days . GCI Testing : GCI reserves the right to test the product before accepting delivery . Sample : Vendor must agree to provide samples at no additional cost to GCI , upon request . Samples must be in full cases . Product and packaging of sample shall reflect the item ( s ) being bid and delivered , if awarded .
