Description | The purpose of the sole source is to acquire a specialized digitization workstation to be installed in Special Collections new preservation facility in T-Deck. The new hardware must be able to scan a wide variety of photographic negatives of various sizes at scale. Digital Transitions Atom is the only scanner on the market capable of scanning various negative sizes with minimal workflow adjustment while maintaining the ability to scan traditional archival materials such as paper and photographic prints. We also require a new lens for the Atom capable of scanning smaller photographic negatives at preservation-quality resolution. |
