Description | A . SCOPE The project will consist of the following components : 1 . Packing and shipping of photographic negatives and prints from the ASA to the Contractor 2 . Metadata recorded into Excel file and embedded in TIFF and JPEG 3 . Selection of best copy available of each unique photographic negative and print for scanning 4 . Conservation work to remove paper , if possible , from photographic negatives and prints to ensure the best image possible 5 . Scanning of photographic negatives and prints to FADGI 3 - Star specifications , creating preservation - quality TIFF files . 6 . Duplication of each preservation TIFF file as a JPEG access file 7 . Sleeving and numbering photographic prints in acid - free archival quality sleeves 8 . Return shipping of sleeved photographic prints to the ASA 9 . Return of TIFF ( preservation ) and JPEG ( access ) files to the ASA on Contractor - provided new external hard SSD hard drives 10 . Appropriate and legal disposal of photographic negatives after scanning |
